An open letter to my employees

It's a proud moment for any business owner when they're able to hire their first employees. For me, that happened today. After years of building eccentricgoose.com alone, I've decided it's finally time to expand the operation, pour gas on the fire, and hopefully set the world ablaze (a >$100M exit).

The new additions to the Goose family will soon make themselves known to you, reader. In fact, one of them is a go-getter and delivered a post on day one! This message from Tophaganda (please read it if you haven't: https://www.eccentricgoose.com/p/unfair-working-conditions-the-goose) has prompted the response below.

To my employees:

I'm excited to have you here. You're all talented, and I have no doubt you can help this company and as a result deserve compensation (i.e., equity). However, you weren't there in the trenches in 2021 when the eccentricgoose concept was born. You weren't there in 2024 when the website first went live. And you certainly aren't here now, when I battle my wife each month to keep this business going. So I hope you can understand that doling out equity doesn't come easy to the me.

As the founder, I'm keeping 51% of eccentricgoose.com. The other 48% is up for grabs (I had to buy moroneybot's likeness for 1%). Equity will be awarded based on performance and will refresh each month. This means if one of you is responsible for 99% of revenue, you'll get 99% of the 48%.

Our goal now is to become a profitable business, which means generating over $84/yr. It's won't be an easy hill to climb, but I believe we can do it.

I'm excited to go to war with you,

EG
